LED BS someone help.

Just gotta say thank you to everyone helping me out with my other BS ... its much Appreciated...

ok now i need your help again.. i was at autozone the other day buying some stuff when i ran into some led lights.. i said wat the hell why not buy them.. so i was going to put them into my brake lights.. and i did but they are very dim.. Im guessing i need a load Resistor.. can any please point me in the right direction in which one to get? and how to install

Also does anyone know the name of the part on the ML which houses the Lamps for the license plate.. its the color of the car for the older models but i think its chrome for the newer models 03+ its right above the plate. Thanks Again guys

Q & R
Those autozone bulbs are real dim (like 99% of the LED bulbs out there) because they are not very bright. Adding the load resistor for LEDs is only to provide enough load on the circuit so that brake light sensors and turn signal flashers work properly. The LED bulbs have very low impedence.

That will be the trunk handle (we call it tailgate or boot handle in the UK)...

I've been using ones from www.ledtronics.com for years. They are much brighter than those autozone bulbs. I only have the brake lights and I don't need load resistors.

CAREFUL! The Euro Tailgate is different that the US one!. The US tailgate has a shorter (narrower) part where the licencse plate goes. This means that it has a shorter lift handle! ergo different partno for euro models.

The tailgate lift partno's & Prices are as follows (Stealer):-

Chrome Tailgate Lift handle (US) 163 740 09 93 , 110 Euro

Chrome Tailgate Lift handle (Euro) 163 740 08 93 , 110 Euro
