Question 2004 ML350 Purchase Questions

I'm considering buying a 2004 ML350 -- and need some advice. It has around 26,000 miles on it, but looks to be in good shape. Though it still has 19 months left on the warranty, it was originally a 'service vehicle' for the dealership which is currently selling it. Should this be a big concern for me? I don't know how long it was a service vehicle, but I do know it was eventually sold to the previous owner who recently traded it in. I asked about the service history and was told it appeared 'normal', and the most recent service was a yearly check in June during which the front brakes were replaced. Should I be concerned that the brakes needed to be replaced so soon? Is this a common problem with this model? Are there other issues with this model that should be aware of? I intend to review the service records in person before I go any further. Any tips or advice will help!!

Thanks -- I will make sure to get the extended warranty. Have you had any problems with your ML350?

Something I absolutely love
My dad drove a 03 ML350 and that thing never had problems, I have some problems out of my 04 ML500, but the 350's are solid and will last a long time. My dad logged 70 miles on that thing everyday to and from work, and at 40,000 miles it felt like it was just being broken in.

Of course last year we traded because he liked the new style of the ML350. Personally I stuck with the old ML500 W163 design because it just has something that the W164's don't.

I hope this helps, and if you buy your ML350 you won't be disapointed!
