I'm assuming you are talking about the 2002 ML55AMG grill. This one is silver with chrome stripes, as shown in the picture below. See my post in the thread that is a couple down from this, I gave the info for a dealer where you can get it for $169, but this grille usually costs from $199 up (my dealer quoted me $289).

I bought and fitted one.. here is the MB part number

You should be able to get any MB dealer to supply it..
There is another crome grill part number 163 880 1085, I am not sure what it is for pre 2002 MLs maybe..
Price £97.50 plus tax (UK), or $150 plus tax

The part number 163 880 1085, is for the pre-2002 ML55 grille, which is now the ML500 grille. That is only chrome.
The '02 ML55 grille has chrome stripes, but the whole grille is silver as well - see the picture below.
The part number for the 2002 ML55 grille is: 163 880 1185.
Will post the source for the grille soon.

Yeah, I have just bought and fitted the ML55 2002 grill on a 2002 270cdi, here is the part number 163 880 1185...

Sorry I was kinda tired - didn't read your post right.
I have edited my old post - sorry though.
But if the dealers there give it for that much, it's a good deal. In my area, the local dealers are quoting $250-280 for the same grille.
And formymercedes.com had it for $199.
I found a cheap dealer in the south who had it for $169, and the cheapest I have found in the US so far is $153 from another dealer - will post info soon for those who are interested.

I have edited my earlier one as well..
The two MB part number I have given are accessory parts, which you don't have have a chassis number to order the grill.
The down side is you pay more for it. If you ordered the same grill as a replacement part for an ML55 its about two thirds the price, but you need to have chassis numbers and stuff.. and I not sure if the ML55 hood is different on the grill fixings.
So best to be safe and stick to the accessory part numbers.. at least you know they fit.. because I have been there and done that.. and got the T shirt..
The best prices I found on MB parts in the US was from New York (Manhattan Island, I think). Give Sam a call in the parts department, hes a good guy. He even likes English Football, although he didn't know my team Charlton Athletic, that's Premier League for those not in the know.
He once shipped a Shock to me in the UK.
The number I call from the UK is 001 212 629 1600, then ask for the Parts dept.
I guess you guys can work out the long distance number from state to state.. let me know what you find out
