No All Wheel Drive??
I was just browsing through my options on my car too see what I really have in my car and read that the all wheel drive has been eliminated? When I bought my ML Pre-Owned, I was told that it was an all wheel drive SUV. Thats one of the main reasons I bought an SUV for the first time, is this true or am I miss understanding what this says below?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
840 elimination of all-wheel drive 4 x 2 (for cross-country vehicles only)
dark tinted glass (с 01.10.1994)

All ML's no matter what year have 4 wheel drive. Low range is standard in all 1998 thru 2005 ML's (W163's). In 2006 with the W164 low range is an option I believe with the off road package which I am not certain is not yet available in the US. However, I had 2 W163's and now a W164 and on the W163's over an 8 year period I never used low range other than to play with it once or twice so I do not miss it at all. But the W164 has an off road mode in the transmission that changes the shift points and it also has a hill decent mode.
