Locking Vehice While On
Cold weather coming, I have a new 2006 ML 350. How do I lock this vehicle with the engine running so I can get the heat going before entering vechicle?
I have otherBenz's and I simply lock the door with the manual key, the ML is not allowing this?

Not that I know of... Just leave the keys in the car and unlocked I do it all the time and have never had anyone attempt anything unless it was a buddy of mine but thankfully people are stupefied on how to put the car in drive. I have no clue why but I have never met anyone that has put it in D without my assistance first.

Sure, I'll just pull up to the 7-Eleven and leave my $55K vehicle running unlocked hoping that no one knows how to put it in gear.
Ouch...

If you are JUST running into a 7-11 there is no need to leave it running unless the line at the conter is miles long. Keep the windows rolled up and the door shut and the interior will not really cool off that much; unless you are at the N/S pole.
P.S.
Thats why they have a heated seat option.

OK I thought you wanted at home when you first start it up. In the winter I will go out and start my car up and turn the heater on and return 5-10 mins later to a nice warm car.
But in your case you are driving it to the 7-11 and want to continue to heat the car while you run in.. AHH the ML has a special button for this look at your 3 a/c controllers and the middle one you will notice it says AC REST turn off your car then hit the AC REST button and turn up the fan speed to desired it limits at like 2 1/2 or 3 and turn it to heat (recommend using full fan speed and full heat temp). It will take residual heat from the motor and heat the car for up to 30 mins or so then auto turn off, or if the voltage on the battery drops it will shut off.
