help on a circuit shortage for break lights

Hello everyone, I own a 98 ml 320 and my rear breaklights aren't working. I removed the rear lamp covers to make sure the bulbs weren't burnt, which they weren't. I checked to see if there was any stripped wiring, but I didn't find one. I replaced the fuse for the rear stop lamps. The fuse would keep getting busted as soon as I would step on the breaks. The break lights would go on simultaneously when I would hit the breaks but would instantaneously stop working because of the burned fuse. I checked the relays but I don't believe there is one for the breaklights (at least where all other fuses are). I don't know what else to do, can someone help me?

Its obvious that there is a short somewhere. Perhaps you are not qualified to know what to look for. Take it to a good shop and have them fix it. Could be a bad bulb socket.
