Changing the lights behind the cluster

Is it possible to change the lights behind the cluster on the ML. I want to change the to white ones. I think it would look very nice. I wonder how the UV leds would look on the white cluster. any ideas ?

Yes, the dealer quoted me $300 too...the bulbs are not cheap - purchase them from the parts dept. and they are almost $7/pop. There are about 30 or so in all...

The good thing is if you DIY, you don't necessarily have to change all...what I did is that the area that had dimmed out...I went ahead and replaced 4 of them in that area at a cost of about $28.

I don't remember, but somewhere on benzworld, I even found the exact layout of the bulbs - which ones were for illumination, which ones for other functions like traction control, idiot lamps etc.

With that diagram in hand, I islolated the 4 bulbs in my area that were for illumination and replaced them...

Its a bit of a hassle to remove the cluster, but if you can do it, it can save you big bucks...there are instructions on this site and benzworld on how to remove the cluster...
