2002 MB C240 & 2004 ML 350
04 ML350 Joined Family
For years I was a bimmer owner. Had 5 in all. As recently as 2005 we had a 323 (wife's car) and a X3.
Now...we got rid of the bimmer and joined the MB family. We initially got the C240 because my wife killed her 323. I loved it so much I started driving it myself. Finally, I traded the X3 for the ML.
The C240's head unit was replaced with a Pioneer AVIC Z1. I added a TV Tuner, Lifetime Sirius, bluetooth, rear view camera, sub and two memphis amps.
Now, the ML is going in for a facelift...Pioneer AVIC Z1, TV tuner, 6 disc DVD changer, lifetime sirius, 2 subs and 2 memphis amps, bluetooth, rear view camera, flip down monitor.
The ML has the 3rd row seat so that's a great option for us. Can't wait to post pics of the ML when the work is done next week...

Bimmers have severe quality issues too...my buddy at work needs a new tranny, radiator and fuel pump at 55K miles on his 2002 5 series...none of them are inexpensive repairs and all are critical components supposed to last a lot more than 4-5 years/55K miles.
Anyways, I am sure you will love the ML....

Thanks...
I had real bad issues with the 323i. The X3 was okay for the first year that many little programming issues.
Well...It has been raining real badly in the North East... Needless to say, a fool driving a 95 Ford Ranger slammed me in the back while is was waiting at the red light. I saw him coming and couldn't do a darn thing. At least his insurance will pay to fix. Plus, only my bumper was damaged (not badly). The Ford's front end was a mess...made me laugh.

Welcome to the "Benz Family" and the Forum. Lots of great information to be had here. Can't wait to see some pictures of your mods. Sorry to hear about the mishap but good to hear everybody is okay. The ML can be fixed as good as new.

Thanks Ottobon100... After getting the C240 for my wife it began the progression to the conversion.
I posted a few times after getting the C240... It has been modded also and there are a few pics posted.
For the ML...I can't be as great as I've seen on some,,,but for my little South Jersey area, it'll be up to par locally. Wishlist includes lowering (as I will never go off road) but admittedly I have no clue about that project.

C240 has Yoko tires also, rims that look like AMG inspired, from Tire Rack. CL styled grill from "from my merc.com" Come to think about it...the rims on your C240 looks just like mine...plus, I changed my hood ornament to the flat type.
The ML has not been modded other than the Audio/Video (installation date planed for Thanks giving week)....Now it needs a repair on the rear bumper. I don't know which i like driving better, but my wife prefer the C240.
Does your ML have the 3rd seat? Mine does... P.S. I saw a ML on the forum last night the blew me away...some kid that also has a yellow hummer. The only thing i didn't like was the over kill on the amount of monitors he had and the complete loss of rear cargo area for sub woofers. My woofers are going to be under both front seats in custom installation.
edit...Mj...it appears we crossed paths before...when I got the C240 and did the AVIC upgrade. Back then I suggested that another poster touch bases with my source for equipment and he was happy...Who'd think that several months later we'd cross paths again owning the same vehicles...

troy, i don't have 3rd row seats...
my wife also prefers to drive C...
ML is more comfy for me...
keep me updated on sub install... i'd luv to put sub under the seat also and maximize the trunk space...

I'll let you know how it turns out. My installer check the ML and decided that under the seat were the best location. The right sub is the key. I bought two Pioneer/Premier 8 inch flat subs...they are 3 inches in depth. Custom boxes and they should fit...under the passenger front seat, he's going to remove the tray...

I know many like the existing COMAND system...but i find the map and user interface to be arcane... I like the touch screen system from the AVIC...

i wonder if these will fit under the seat or on the sides of the trunk space... these are 12x2.56" subs and designed to be installed on doors...

I have the same Pioneer/Premier subs in the C240 but a 12 inch instead...https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/149856-aftermarket-nav-system-2003-c240.html
The tray is yours...But, I don't know what they are worth and don't know how much to sell them for...what is your offer?
