Dashboard lights

The lights behind my heater/AC controls are out.

How can I remove the front panel to replace them?
Or can they be fixed some other way?
Or could the problem be something other than bulbs?

01 ML430

Thanks
Roman

The same thing happened on my ML430. The dealer just had to replace the bulb. I don't think they charged me too much.....but I can't remember now.

Believe the bulb is accessable if you just remove the Knob. Do not believe the panel needs to come off.

Pull the middle knob straight out and you will see a small bulb. Pull it out and replace it. That one bulb lights all three dials.

ACW, sosh, and Stiggs.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Sounds straight-forward. I'll give it a try.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

The bulb is so small how does one access it and remove it on my ML320.

I think I remember using tweezers with some duct tape on the tips to grip the bulb.

I replaced it today.

I bought a small length of stiff clear vinyl tubing at Home Depot, with a diameter small enough to fit snugly over the end of the bulb in the dash. (it was the smallest diam. that they had - 1/8" (??). I pushed the tubing over the end of the old bulb, wiggled it a bit, and pulled it out.
Then I used the same tubing to stick the new bulb in. (without touching the glass - since this can accelerate burn out).

Done in 30 seconds! (and the dealer didn't charge me for the bulb).

Once again, thanks for your advice.
