Where is the amp for MCS?

Where is the amp for MCS?
I want to install a power sub or maybe install a amp and upgrade the speakers to my 2000 ML55. Where is the amp to audio system? or does it just come off the back of the MCS unit because I do see pinout diagram to the MCS on wolfgang's ML page.

Under Driver's Seat, It's A Black Metal Thing Lay Nearly Flat To The Floor. Under The Passenger Seat Is The Navigation Computer -do Not Touch That-

i have 2 12" JL in my SUV too, the sub amp under driver's seat is where you wanna touch ...

Kenneth, I believe his is pre 02... in which case the Amp is in the dash, behind the drivers side cup holder. Under the passenger seat in the 98-01s is a lock box(at least in my 55) under the drivers seat is nothing. My 00 was completely rewired and thats where the amp was located. I believe 02 was a bose system?

On another note, just wondering if anyone has done it, I completely gutted mine and never tried the experiment before i stopped installing but has anyone tried feeding the amp a low level input and succeeded?

right , the amp behind the cup holder is the main amp, the amp under the seat is the sub amp, ( at least in my 02' ML 500 ) Good luck

ah yes... the 98-01s dont have that sub...

Fkong, you need to decide first wether or not your goin to redo the whole system or just add a sub, the install paths are very different and could be less of a headache to do the whole thing over
