Did anybody try offroading in ML? How does it behave on sand?

Almost any SUV will perform well on sand if you deflate the tires enough and you have enough power to overcome the friction. ML's have done quite well in the past in desert rallies. They aren't so great in terrain that requires a lot of ground clearence. Here are some pics of ML's in Death Valley:
