Single Din headunit install? to replace MCS
I have a 2000 ML 320 with Bose. I am looking at removing everything from the car stereo wise in the near future. I do not want to go with a double din setup- I already have NAV, etc with a carpc, so to add something like the D1 would be overkill and expensive.
I am basically looking for a headunit install kit that can install into the area of the MCS and allow for a single DIN headunit to be installed. I plan to remove all the BOSE equipment (amp, speakers, etc) and replace with all aftermarket. I plan to use Pioneer since I already have an XM Tuner and AUX IPBus box for Pioneer.
Just wondering how difficult this will end up being, and if anyone have any tips or advice. I have a good amount of stereo install experiance, and some semi limited fabrication skills in carbon fiber and fiberglass, but I would love to have a template to use to custom build something. Plus I really don't want to have to pay a shop to custom build me a surround and mounting kit... I imagine a bill upwards of $200+ for something like that, and it will more then likely just get torn apart soon any ways.

Out Of Control!!
how much install experience do you have? your asking for a kit for a vehicle that doesnt need one... pull MCS out, insert mercedes pocket out of earlier ML or even just a multi purpose pocket you can pick up at best buy. if you get the multipurpose pocket use the volvo directions...

Gotcha...
I only pulled the MCS out once before to install an XM Tuner, so I didn't remember what it looked like back there anymore. Thanks for the info, I will make some calls tomorrow, would love to get this thing dialed in soon.
Thanks for the info!
