Hey guys. The time has come to sell the wife's ML and get something smaller/more economical. Just wondering how y'all think the market is at the moment. It's a 2001 ML430 with 80,000 miles. Never wrecked, everything works, all maintenance done on time. Real nice. Thinking of listing it at $16k. From what I see listed around here, it seems reasonable. Just want to sell it quickly without taking a bath. Probably going to get here a C class. She doesn't need AWD, and we hardly ever carry enough stuff to warrant the size. And, of course, she tired of getting 12 mpg driving around town. Let me know what you think about this price. I got offered $12k trade-in, but I'd like to get at least $15k if I can. TIA

I generally just do some looking around (web forums, autotrader, local papers) to get an idea. I also check with a friend of mine (in Georgia) who runs a small, independent dealership. Being a Mercedes/BMW guy, he tends to keep at least one ML around in inventory.

The current one he has is a black '00 ML320 with 93K miles. His asking price is $13,500.

Yours has differences from his, so adjust accordingly.

I think asking 16k is fair. I don't know what it might bring in your area, but I'll say it's a fair asking price especially since it is in clean and good condition. Good Luck.

One of my neighbors has a dealership, and he's going to sell it off of his lot at no charge to us. He thinks he can get $16k or close. Always nice to find out that you have nice neighbors!
