Angry Trunk Lock

Greetings all,

My trunk lock has been busted for a few months now and it is getting to be annoying. The lock does not lock or unlock with the remote or with the lock switch for the door locks. I have to climb through the back seat to flip the switch then go around and open it. The dealer wants close to $200 to replace the lock (parts and labor).

Also, I was able to have a friend change the rotors and pads on my fronts. It went very well but now I notice the rotors are rusting close to the center (where glossy part ends). I purchased from Germanstar.com. They said the new rotors were OEM, but my old OEM with 40K miles had no rust.

Thanks in advance.

Nick

Huh

well you probably shouldn't have replaced the rotors anyhow. It's recommended you replace them, every other time you change your brakes. About that trunk lock. If you gripe and complain to your dealer enough, it'll get fixed for free. Trust me. I'm 8,000 miles outta warranty and they fix things for me ALL THE TIME. Mostly because I am suing them and my car is a lemon but we won't get into all that.

I changed my brakes myself and it took maybe 30 minutes. It's so simple. I didn't have any instructions either. All you'll need is a #40 Torx bit, a rachet and a flat head for prying for the front and the rear I think it's a 1/2", a rachet and a flat head. Too bad you let someone else do it. That may be your problem.

I get my OEM parts from www.thebenzbin.com
