MY oil light came on 2 days ago.....I checked the oil level Before I started to drive at that time...
I shut the ML320 1999 i have and checked the oil again.
The oil level was in the middle range of the dip stick so that was ok..
I even toped it off with another quarter of a quart of mobile 1 ow50..
i started the car It did not come on again..
today about 3 days later..my wife called me told me that the OIL LIGHT came on again this morning..and the light goes away or shuts off after about 10- to 30 seconds....
and she did mention to me that this happened one other time last week..
Does anyone know what is going on..
OIL LIGHT ....lights up after driving the car for more than 15 minutes....
it is solid OIL LIGHT lit.
and turns off after 10sec- to a minute...
what could be my issues any help would be helpful
thanks.
MY sunroof opens completely..
I try to close it..almost 70 percent closed ...then it stops
you have to push the button up towards the cealing to get it closed but it does not seal very tightly.
there is some wind sound coming in...
some water gets in but does not leak into the truck..
it travels down the side and drains down into the frame area..if you know what i mean..
WHat is wrong with the sunroof that possibly i can check.
for quick reference.the sunroof switch has 4 positions to move...
Front = towards the windsheild
Back = towards the back of the trunks location
Up = towards the ceiling
Down = towards the floor of the car when pulling the switch down..
when sunroof is open.........
to close the sunroof...push switch to front....or UP...starts to close the sunroof....if Front is pushed....it will stop at about 70% closed...and stays there....I then can push the switch UP an it continues to close but you see it close and go up but it could go up a bit more to seal nicely.
NOw the sunroof when pushing up the sunroof does no pop open up to get some air into the truck...
that position no longer works.
I will take apart the ceiling panel where the cluster and the temp and milage cluster is in that panel and see if the switch is wired ok..or possibly something is loose..
IF you could guide me to another site or any other listing about this issue...
Help me out....
thanks for the sensor help...
Appreciate your responses....
Well my ml500 has had the oil light on solid for 800 miles since I’ve rebuilt the m113 engine for it . I tripped checked oil level with dip stick & it was fine . The dash would not give me a reading and stay stuck on the lines . car ran like a champ & idles so smooth it’s hard to tell that it’s even running . After investigating & hoping I didn’t have to replace the sensor 🤯 I found that the lower middle pin on the sensor was bent ! I tried my best to straighten it with my pencil bore scope camera & pair of dental needle pliers . Very hard to reach area right behind my the alternator . I ended up shoving a staple into the plug end to bridge the gap & make some sort of connection & it worked like a charm . Oil light gone & I can now read level on the dash . Here are some pics of the bent pin with my phone & pencil scope cam Initial discovery of the bent pin , Shot with iPhone Me getting to it finally after 15 minutes of playing twister with my arms & wrists to get in there using pencil scope in left hand & dental pliers in right hand Me giving it some pressure It straightened up a bit but ultimately I had to bend it completely downward so I can plug in the connector plug with the staple bent downward also to avoid short circuits
