MB ML320 rotor and pads replacement

Good day to everybody

My 1999 ML320 is in need of new rotors and pads. Is there a particular procedure to follow? Stealer wants my children in exchange for the job.

So I decided to keep my children and do the brake job instead..

I will appreciate all the help I can get.

Thank you.

I found this site very helpful for my '03. Says this is for '00 - '03. I'm not sure of the differences between '99 and '00 but hopefully they aren't significant. Maybe someone who has done this on a '99 can comment.

I did the pads and rotors on my ML a few months ago. Nothing out of the ordinary if you have changed disk brake pads before. Although I did actually have to use an air hammer to get the front rotors off, that was a bit unnerving...I coated the face of the hubs with anti seize to keep that from happening next time.

2001 ML320 fully loaded except the damn navigation sytem.
I just had my front brakes and rotors replaced about a month ago. I dont even know what the dealer wanted, but big 10 tires wanted $630 to replace them. I was like "WOW". So they gave me the option to buy the parts myself and they would charge $100 for the labor. So thats what i did. They reminded me to only buy OEM parts, or they will squeak, so basically, i saved $300, just for buying the parts myself and letting them install it.

It doesn't have to be OEM product, there's aftermarket that wouldn't squeak. Just make sure follow the directions and apply anti-squeaking gel..

BTW.. If you can change a Honda, Toyota, or Nissan brake you can change ANY Mercedes or BMW's IMO...
