Some Xtended Warranty Info that may Interest Some of us

You may or may not know this... While at the shop a couple of days ago for my CEL/Blinking gas light issue, my SA asked me if I was interested in MB's xtended warranty for the truck. As I recall, you have to get it within the first year of owning the vehicle. Apparently, MB has updated this - she told me I can still get the MB xtended warranty as long as I'm within the 50K OEM warranty period. The terms are still 1, 2 or 3 years, or 100K, whichever comes first, and they cover everything the original warranty covers. For my 05 500 with 40,117 miles, it'd cost me $3,125US/1yr, $4,000US/2yrs or 5,150US/3yrs. These prices seem steep. What do aftermarket vendors offer - cost and coverage.

do the 100k warranty, the tranny replacement at 60k alone is over $5k and not to mention replacing suspension parts and transfer case problems that will all be fixed by dealer if you get the warranty. i wouldnt drive an M without warranty,

on my 91k 2002 S55, i just got a 3yr/36k warranty for $3k-ish. looking at the inclusion list, my mechanic was pretty impressed. furthermore, given that my car already had 91k, i was pleased that i was able to get it. of course, the key test will be when i place a claim. we shall see.

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
Darkmann, that is weird. My dealer isn't saying the same thing. They are sticking to the first year ownership claim. And those prices are insanely high for the ML.
