Exclamation vehicle dies while driving

so, my mom has a '99 ml320. she told me that when she's driving, the vehicle just shuts off out of nowhere. it usually happens when she is at a stop, but happened twice while driving. after the vehicle shuts off, it will crank, but not start. so she usually has to wait about 15 mins at least and it will start again. is this a fuel problem or is it something else? i think it may be the fuel filter or injectors. someone else said it may be the fuel filter as well. i'm not too sure how to go about this. any help would be greatly appreciated. the mileage is 86,000 if that helps.

If you search the forums you'll likely find that these are classic symptoms of cps or crankshaft position sensor failure. This is not a terribly uncommon problem on M112 engines. Welcome to the forum, and remember that the search button is your friend. Happy motoring!
