Incidentally, I also own a customized 4x4 Toyota 4Runner with a suspension lift, 33" off-road dedicated tires and a snorkel intake. I use that for my off-road excursions and driving through waist deep rivers. So I didn't really need my ML for ground clearance, it's a city/highway vehicle only.

FYI to anyone not familiar with the older 911 models, 1986 was the first year that the 911 came with the stout G-50 transmission and a newly styled dashboard which was basically used until the end of the air-cooled line in 1998. For the classic 911 fan, the 1986-1989 911 is the best mix of reliability, tuneability, driveability and affordability.
