W212 E350 sport wagon
I'm using the one that Walmart sells. It covers all cars including CAN-BUS (newer cars) and has a PC link. If you're so inclinded, you can d/l upgrades to it and u/l engine results to your PC. It runs about $100 and will clear codes.

Can i use it to turn on my fog lights controled by the internal switch (turned off at factory)? This I would do!

No - none of them would do that.
These things just read diagnostic codes from the car computer (OBDII port). You can use them to turn off the 'check engine' light, unless the fault wasn't fixed; then the light will just come back on next time you run the engine.
You need something a little more BENZ specific to turn on and off car features.
