My ML had to be jumped last night. Prior to jumping, I was listening to the radio (just enough power) while waiting for AAA. After the jump the radio was dead. I did not get the CODE message or an error. The screen is dark, and will not function in NAV, Radio, or CD mode. I checked the fuse under the hood and it was fine. Is there another fuse behind the radio? Any other suggestions. The dealer is closed for the long weekend, and it is just out of Warranty. Any suggestions?
I'm not sure if this will work or not but try unplugging your cables from the battery for about 10-15 seconds. That should allow the ECU time to reset itself. Hopefully you will be back in business. I have never heard of this instance before.

I have a similar problem. I got my 2000 ml 320 fully detailed yesterday (including a interior shampoo). When I p/u the truck the radio was working fine but when I started the car this morning the radio didn't come on.
Ther's no display, no audio...dead. It may be a coincidence it stopped working AFTER I got a detail but does anyone know if the ECS is covered by an extended warranty?
Also isn't it a bad idea to disconnect the battery terminals?
Just use an 11mm wrench and take the nut off and then the two brown wires and the one large black wire at the firewall behind the battery, that is your main ground; thats the safest way. I dont know if this will fix your problem but its worth a try. Autogunner.
