Silent Alarm when locking my '02 ML320
Whenever I lock my ML 320 truck I get the 3-blink confirmation that my alarm is armed. But then the 3-blink confirmation is immediately followed by continuous blinking but the horns aren't blaring like a regular alarm. I tried to switch off anti-theft using the trip computer after turning off the engine and that prevents the "silent alarm" from happening. Any ideas? TIA for the replies.

Its obvious that there is a problem with your alarm system. Its impossible I believe to turn off the entire system. What you are turning off is only the tow away protection. The only way to troubleshoot the system is to interrogate it for faults with the STAR diagnostic system. Dealers and a very few independents have this.
