Hello.
I need to replace the brake light bulb in one of the 1999 ML320's tail light assemblies. I need some assistance in getting at the bulbs in the two tail light assemblies. How do I gain access to the inside back of the lamp assemblies in order to pull the bulb and socket out? I specifically need to access the assembly/bulb in the passenger side of the car. Also, does anyone know what bulb type/number it would be for the brake light bulb (is it a standard P21W)?

Thanks,
Walt

One important tip: Be sure that you have taken the two (2) 10mm plastic nuts off AND that you have moved the slotted plastic tabs under those nuts off to the side BEFORE pulling backwards to release the "snap" lock. It's really easy to break those tabs, so take care.

TIP: A PLASTIC wedge used gently between the body and the lamp housing on the lower forward edge (where the snap lock is located) can help to ease a "stuck" snap lock. A bit of silicone before reassembly will make this easier if you have to do it again.
