New Pads/Rotors - "chirping" noise

2005 ML 350: Recently replaced all 4 pads /rotors and now experiencing a "chirping" noise when I initially apply pressure to the brakes.

Any thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

By chirping, do you mean squeaking when you apply pressure to the brakes?

I tried to save a few bucks and I didn't purchase Mercedes Benz parts. As a result, my ML made a horrible squeaking sound every time I applied the brakes. After about a week, I had my mechanic put the recommended brakes and rotors and the problem went away.

There are 2 very competent pads for the ML: Raybestos Quiet Stop Platinum plus and Wagner Thermo-quiet. But, Raybestos changes names so much, I'm not sure that's what they call them, anymore. However, they do not dust the wheels and they make no noises when stopping. If your pads are making noise, take them off and apply a thin coat of a good heavy Valvoline synthetic grease to the back of the pads and re-install them. It'll work, trust me.

^^^^

I did that prior to switching to the recommended brakes and still got the noise. It worked for about 2 days, and then the squeaking started again.

Did you clean everything out BEFORE you install the pads? You do not have to purchase the expensive stuff from the dealership. Best way to stop the "noise" is making sure you clean every part with a large of amount of Brake Cleaner. Applied the anti-squeaky stuff and you should be fine.

are you sure? i just bought a set for 100 canada, about 90 usd

i got it for warehouse price cause i work at a dealership...

I heard they squeek. but either way im installing them and worry about them a year later.

all i care about is that it wont dust or squeek and that it will stop when i brake
