Brake Release Cable

Is there a way to tighten the brake release cable?

I gotta pull the brake release hard 3-4 times for the brake light sensor to disappear.

Thanks in advance.

You may want to try lubricating the brake spring and exposed portion of the cable. That worked on our ML. Good luck :-)

May I ask where the brake spring is and where the exposed portion is?

If you look down in the footwell and up towards the brake pedal you will see the latching and release mechanism. You will need a flashlight, some WD-40, and some wipes. Takes all of 5 minutes. Take a look it's very simple and may grant you some relief. It did for us on both our ML and C Class . . .

CAREFUL putting WD on it. Be sure that you have something on the ground because it will drip!
