2003 ML350 BAS/ESP Help

Need some ideas/help! I have a 2003 ML350. The BAS/ESP light came on and resets with ignition turn off/on indicating no code(s). This happened intermittently for awhile. Problem has gotten more frequent with apparent loss of braking (e.g., pedal goes to the floor and recovers after a pump or two with the pedal). With traction control turned off "!" the problem does not happen as frequent.

Again, there are no code(s) being generated. On Answer.com a MBZ mechanic indicated ECU module or Brake Booster issue. From the forums here, Ive seen Brake Switch, Brake Pressure Sensor, and ABS control unit.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Vehicle has ~123K miles and recently had crankshaft position sensor and had mechanic check brakes at that time (all were OK)?

I have the same vehicle and I replaced the brake booster because it was leaking air. After I replaced it, the BAS/ESP light comes on. I'm not sure what the problem is.

I have a 2004 ML350 with the abs and other 2 traction control lights on. Its probably the ABS module. I fixed several loose solder joints on older MLs but it seems like they are now making it harder to remove the cover on the module. Does any one know how to get the cover off. there are no tabs to push like on the ML320 units. Do I need to grind something off? I guess they are probably pissed that we can fix the units so easily and are making it harder to access the solder joints.

Thanks
