2000 ml320 transfer case noise
2000 ml320 transfer case noise, as vehicle rolls you can hear a squeaky noise coming from apparently the transfer case, this happens even when I turn the engine off and let the car roll down in idle, the noise accelerates in rate as the vehicle rolls faster.
I have already serviced the transfer case by changing the oil but the problem persists.

Change the fluid. I had exactly the same problem. After changing the fluid, the noise is completely gone. If memory serves, it takes a little while for it to go completely, but it did. Do a search on transfer case fluid change or something like that. It is very easy to do.

I had the same problem with my 03 ML 500. The dealership eventually replaced the transfer case. It was still under warranty.. If were are talking about the same thing, it sounds like little birds cherping underneath the vehicle, very annoying...............
