Check engine light came on

Hi,
I have ml320 with 88000 miles and i am from connecticut while dricing down to boston it came and was wondering if its ok to drive back with it on? what would the problem be because last time it came on it was air leak from the oil cap, i dont want to go to the dealer and spend for diagnostic again. Please let me know...what it can and should i be driving it...

Unfortunately it could be anything. One of the most common issues with the ML is that the crank position sensor goes bad. But if this were to happen the symptoms would be your car turns on, but when it heats up it would turn off and not turn on till the car was cool again, but you would go through that issue again. Who knows what it is until you get it checked out. You may or may not be able to drive long distance depending on the problem.

thank you so much for your reply and i am thinking to go advance to get the code checked out. Do you think they can do because i tried it myself it was like 4402 or something like that which states it was an air leak. Please let me know. thank you
