Let the modding begin
Last week, I bought my first Benz, an 04 ML500.
I haven't driven a car in stock form for +- 3 years, so now it's the ML's turn for some trickery.
First on the list are the essentials :
- 5000k HID kit
- Bluetooth Car Kit.
The latter seems to be problematic here (in South Africa). It's very easy for me to get an aftermarket one, Parrot etc, but I was keen to get a bluetooth interface for the Audio 30 system which clearly can take some sort of phone connection. Is this possible, can it work? MB here say no, as I don't have the pre-cabled harness to the phone-holder in the armrest. I don't believe this is necesarry, as surely the BT-module can be hard-wired into the back of the HU? Any harnesses available aftermarket for this?
Another thought is to retrofit the COMAND system from an ML55AMG. Also, is this possible? I see the GPS antenna is up on the back of the roof. Don't suppose all ML's are pre-cabled for this?
The car has the Factory BOSE system, if that makes any difference.
