How can I find out if my '99 ML 430 is still under warranty?

If you bought it new, it the warranty expires 4 years after you bought it. If you bought it used, you'll have to find out when the original owner purchased it, and it's 4 years from that date. If you're over 50,000 miles, the warranty is expired.

Go to your dealer and ask them to print out a VMI (vehicle master inquiry). They'll probably do this for free. It has all the information you could ever want to know about your ML, including production date, in-service date, option codes, any warranty work that has ever been done, what dealer it was purchased from, etc...
