Are window switches swappable ?

My drivers side window switch has died on ML320 2000. I realise that it can be repaired by bending the copper contacts.

But can I swap the 2 rear window switches (rarely used) with the 2 front ones ?
This way I should get another 10 years out of the switches

If the center console rear window switch does not work, this is not a big problem as the rear doors have another switch in them.

All of the center consol switches are in one module and cannot be swapped. Just replace the whole module. They are cheap but be certain you get the correct part number as there are several "flavors"

Oh yes, bending the copper contacts is not a fix, It is a temporary get the window up band aid. The only true fix is replacing the switch module.

Yes you can swap the switches; that's what I did to rid myself of a bad switch rather than buying a new center console assembly.

You did not resolve the problem just moved it to another place. If you do not count your labor maybe you saved a hunderd bucks! Feel good about that? Besides it will break again with another switch in the module.

Feels great as a matter of fact, made this swap 4 years ago with no other issues to date. Yes, there is a bad switch now for a rear window but the rear passengers still have their own separate good working switches. My bad switch on the front console assembly was the drivers window and I simply switched it with the driver's rear passenger location. This a very easy a quick fix and if another switch fails on the front console I'll replace the whole unit in kind.

Just some advice; lighten up a little; I just answered a question from the original poster.
