Automatic Lights Stopped Working ...
Brought my 03 ML500 to the 'stealership' for a B Service.... Discovered that night that my Automatic Lights dont work anymore.
The switch is set on 'Auto' but the lights won't turn on. When I exit the car in with the switch in 'Auto' the car beeps as if the lights were still on.
However, the Navigation Unit changes colors when its dark as if the 'sensor' is still working.
Was told its a faulty combination switch and would cost the usual 'stealership' price of $230 plus $150 installation. (I've found the part much cheaper at Autohausaz).
My question: is there a way to repair the combination switch since its only related to the 'Auto' setting?
BTW: Nice to be on board. Mercedes Rocks.

You know when its going to stop working?? One dark rainy night when you need the lights and do not have them. Then perhaps you will get stopped for no lights and the ticket you will get will be lots more expensive than the switch. Plus they may have you tow the car. But you seem to think its OK. Great logic there.
