'99 ML320 BAS/ESP and ETS LIGHTS

Hello:

While I don't have problems too often this is an awkward one for me.

Recenlty I had both the BAS/ESP and ETS instrument cluster lights stay on following ignition. The truck runs fine, but of course there is no ESP function until I replace the switch

As luck would have it there was a "Free" (not an M-B word) clinic at the local dealer. They checked out my truck and told me that the "brake switch" was out and needed to be replaced for $200. They said that the turn out/turn in switch was located behind the brake pedal.

I do much of my own work_____ , but cannot see this switch that they are talking about - 'frustrating. Please, has anyone else replaced this switch and able to help me locate it? Or, is there a post that I missed that "shows" where the switch is located so that I can find and replace it?

Many thanks for your time and effort in replying to this post, I really do appreciate the guidance, MICHAEL

2007 GL450 2005 C55 2002 C32 sold 2001 ML320 sold
This is a $15 fix and easy to do. I did it about 3 years ago on my 2001 ML320 using instructions from a post on this or the benzworld forum. A search for a term like brake switch should get you somewhere.

I have sold the ML already or i could go and take a picture of the switch under the consle where the brake is. You do have to remove the cover under the drivers side to get at it, but once you do it should be easily identifyable.
