BAS/ETS/ESP and cruise control not working! PLEASE HELP
Awesome forum. Need some help.
Was driving with cruise control on the highway, when BAS/ETS/ESP lights came on. They still remain on despite me trying to re-syncrhonize steering wheel. Is this a brake switch problem, or something more? How can I tell before taking it to the dealer? Thanks.

May not be of much help, but I had the same problem about 6 months ago.
Long story short, someone ran into the back of me and cracked my rear bumper. Whilst in repair shop, someone jump started my ML with a booster pack and shorted out a strange fuse somewhere. It was sorted by my local indy for around £50 (mostly labour)
Also resulted in heated seats not working
Like I say, may not be of much help, but may stop you worrying a bit.

Replace the
brake light switch.
Those are the classic symptoms and get the part from the dealer or www.autohausaz.com not ebay.
diy similar to the diy on www.benzworld.org w210 forum diy section at the top of the forum.$20 fix.

Brake lamp switch is cheap enough...try that out if you want. Don't be surprised if you need a steering angle sensor, which is part of the column...very common on the 163. But all of that is a guess.
