Difference between the radio system in 2000 ml55 vs 2002

Hello Everyone,
Just trying to understand the difference between both because i just got an aftermarket radio and on my 2000 i purchased the wiring harness from crutchfield and when i called for the 2002 they said that it wouldnt work unless i replaced all speakers. Both had bose systems! Any ideas?
Thanks
Mike

I believe that in 2002, MB started using the 'most' system which is basically a fiberoptic loop. and communication from the head unit to the bose amp was fiberoptic, so you can't tap into that, that's the reason for the comment of, replacing all the speakers for that reason. At least I think this is the case.

Yes that is correct, which sucks! I think i might be able to tap into the factory speakers using a new amp, since all the speakers, i beleive are running into the current amp under the seat. Does anyone have a wiring diagram ?
Thanks for your help
