Question Where is the pre-wire for Lited running board for 2003 ML?

Any one knows where is the pre-wired plug for Lited running board for 2003 ML?
I purchase the Lited running board separatly and was planning on install it myself because I was told its pre-wired. But I can not see the wire anywhere, any ideas? Thanks.

IIRC, the wires should be just there on the side of where the running boards will be, after you take off the little caps at the end of the pre-existing rocker panel. I'll get you some more detailed info soon if I can find the documentation from when I helped install the lighted running boards on a relative's '01 ML320.

In the mean time, does anyone know where I can find that wire to hook up my lite for the running board?

Hi - sorry for the late reply (didn't notice this). I'll try to find some instructions. The boards usually come with MB's installation sheet -- I've seen scanned copies online of the one for the step bars - someone's probably done the same for the running boards. But in any case, if I recall, you just have to connect the wiring up in the fuse box. See this thread from "the other site."

I don't have the instruction anymore as I sold my lighted running board brand new unopened to some good member on the board. If my memory serve correctly I believe the term pre-wire meant in this case is refering to the fuse box is ready to accepted the lighted running board but you'll still need it connected to the fuse box and it'll tough to find a good installer that would mess with your MB's fuse box.

I sold my pair as I finally got the stainless steel step bar that I always wanted in the first place to go with the full MANIK apperance.

Well for the running boards, the physical installation is very easy. Getting the wire up into the fuse box is a bit more involved, but it's not hard. See the link I provided above.
