MERC ML430 YEAR 2000
the biggest alternator for ml 430 year 2000

can any body help me? i am running quite a big system in my merc ml 430 year 2000 it comes standard with 150 amp bosch alternator. my question is what is the biggest alt that i can bolt straight on without having to get a bracket or brackets made up. all help thanked in advance.

The 150 amp should power most anything you can put into the ML.

That's a 100Amp battery mated to a 150Amp alternator..What more can you ask for?

If you insist, you can mate a 1500Amp alternator to the ML as well...all you need to worry about is the mounting...and you can always build a custom mount for any alternator...

You will lose some hp on the wheels by mating larger alternators..

im running around 4200 rms just on subs i have 2 big yellow batterys 100 amps each batt their weight is 43-47 kilo's each one

You need a large external rectifier for that unit and I'd certainly keep it isolated from the Benz electrical system. If you can stuff that big boy under the hood and devise a pulley to drive it you should be able to inflict pain continuously instead of the half hour of reserve power you have in your batteries.
