2001 ML430 CLEAR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT & OVERDUE SERVICE MILES
My check engine light comes on sometimes. It has been on for awhile lately. Is this because the mileage indicator says I am overdue for service? How can I clear that? I had the service done been not at a dealer. The dealer was too expensive. Also, I have had "fluttering" acceleration right after I changed the battery. Never had that problem before I changed the battery and the CPS. Is that normal? Also, it was idling rough when I was at a stop light for awhile but went away. The car wanted to accelerate with the brake on, even though the idle was normal. Does this happen after you have it serviced to the let the computer reset? Thank you for your help!

Check engine light is not on because the service light is on. Your problems are for the most part due to your poor decision and your trying to save a nickle by having work done by someone who has no clue. You got what you paid for!! Now just take it to the dealers and get it done correctly and its going to cost you.

the part that was replaced was easy. anyone can do it but I did not have a life. it only cost $40 for the part online and $100 to install. the dealer wanted $600 for the part and install. why would I waste that money when a monkey could install the part and a battery?
