Window Switch, quick question

Ive read the DIY on removing the window switch and how to adjust them to make them work... the problem is the passenger window will not roll back up... ive already dissembled the window switch and i understand how it works... the contacts need to be adjusted... however i still cannot get the window to roll up. Ive hooked up the window switchback to the car with the contacts open and pushed down all three trying to make the window roll back up... still like this the window will only roll down... is it safe to say the switch is just bad? if so is there someway i can get the window back up in its current state until the new switch arrives?
