ML 320 ETS and ABS lights on

The ETS and ABS lights come on with the ignition, then off with the rest of the warning and status lights, at start, then back on when AIRBAG OFF light turns off, remain on, until ignition is turned off. Tried: Verified Brake lights come on, switch is good, (only w/key on). Where is steering angle sensor, and can it be checked with a volt meter? Is there a resistance check, or other verifacation of operation, for wheel pulse's? Yeah, the ML is a joy to own and drive. And....., what is the console switch with the dot and the little man do? I will eventualy find the ABS and ETS malfunction, and could use some help. Thanks for any input, Mark P.S. Our Library will let us copy schematics from the Excellant Mitchels Manuals, although, you have to leave your license while you run 25 cent copies, but the info is awesome.

Sounds like your abs pump is dead. Go find some place (gravel, small patch of snow) to activate the abs pump. Usually the washer jug leaks and drips right on top of the abs pump/module. Or you could have a broken speed sensor wire? Little man on switch is just a window lock for all the window operation except the driver's window. Hope this helps. !!!!!And change the tranny fluid!!!! I had 2 ML's transmission failed in our shop in 1 day!
