New plugs, wires. Not throwing any codes but every once in a while it will stall while idling at a traffic light. Always got decent mileage until recently. Any ideas on the usual suspects before I take it to the stealer? 88 mikes round trip to work and I'm putting $25.00 a day in the tank.

Thanks for the replies - I thought of that also but I'm not getting a Check Engine light.

MAS may not be broke but just filthy. Also, how recent was the last air filter change out?

My 1999 ML430 has about 135K miles on it and I can almost get up to 19mpg. Sometimes closer to 20mpg.

my ml430 2000 model is stalling at stop lights. so far starts back immediately every time. rpms drop and looses power then dies. fortunately it has started back everytime so far. started happening two weeks ago. now becoming more frequent. cat was replaced in 07... lost fire in cylinder 8. stealer fixed both and im still broke from that last go aruond. been thinking its a crankshaft, maf sensor, any ideas? please help in hard times have 4 kids. two in which Ive raised as my own since little toddlers now 6 and 8 and also my biological baby's 5 months and 17 month yea only almost a year between the two. please someone help me. ive been researching this forum. and seems as tho the crankshaft sensor will make your car wait several minutes to restart. mine just started this problem any suggestions

Probably have to plug it into a computer and read the codes its throwing.
Why not go to an independent service place instead of the dealership and save some money?
