Catalytic converter ?
Just yesterday my ML430 started having a fluttering/air sound coming from under the vehicle and a slightly noticeable loss of power. It sounds like its coming from one of the cats. Anyway, if its a crack in one of them would you guys have it welded or would you just go with the Magnaflow cats (its only like 80 bucks a peice) and just go ahead and get 2 of them and replace both?

Im going to take it to the exhaust shop tonight or tomorrow. I'll keep you posted as to what i find. Yeah it does look like this thing has 2 cats per side. The Magnaflow only replaces one of the cats. Autopartswharehouse.com sells the complete assembly with both cats for a little over 400 bucks. Lets see what the exhaust shop can do first!

Okay-i just got a call from my muffler shop. Both the driver and passenger side cats are cracked but he is able to weld both and is charging me $125. I said go for it!
