Service Bulletins
G'day everyone,
Had a problem with the rear brakes on my wife's ML270 diesel.
We had metal to metal on the left inner rear brake pad. No warning in the dash!
It's an update version built in Ala USA in mid 2001(2002 model). So the car is still under warranty. I had to pay for new pads, OK (but only had 27,000kms), and two new rear rotors! I understand that Benz know that the inner rear pads take all the wear on these ML's and that guess what? The sensor was placed on the outer rear RH pad. That's a fat lot of good....then I get a sniff of a SB about Benz changing the position of the sensor to the inner....great. But they were to do this at the first service time or first brake pad change! Our car still shows 2500kms to go till the first service is due! A dangerous situation indead!
My question is for the techs on the forum. Did you guys have the same problem in the US with the ML320 and was there a SB to fix it? I'm particularly interested in the SB for my car... dates etc. and when this sensor position change was to be carried out.
Any help would be gratefully received.
BTW at this stage, just found out, Benz will pick up the cost of the disc rotors only.
Thanks for your help in adance.

Now the cruise control doesn't work!
Maybe the techs who fixed the brakes have accidentally disconnected something?
The speed limiter works just not the cruise control.

service bulletins
Alldata.com had no service bulletins for 2002 M-Class. Those for 2001 didn't mention brakes, at all. I had checked earlier, but forgot to post the results. Sorry.
