I just purchased a 2002 ML 500. I have turned off the automatic central locking function (where it locks everything at 9mph), and now I want to switch to global unlocking (one click unlock of all doors and rear hatch). The owner's manual does not mention how to do this. This is my third ML, and I have had the 2000, and 2003 models changed to global unlocking at the dealership, but no one there remembers how to change it. I've been told that a person can hold down the unlock and lock buttons for several seconds on the fob, but mine does not respond. Any ideas?
