ML320 Steering Issue and Knocking Sounds
Hi Guys,
I Have a 2000 ML320, and I have had this strange problem for a while now.
Turning right, the power steering works perfectly and I can turn easily. No muscle-power needed at all; however, when I try to turn left, it is much harder and at some times I really need to put in a lot of energy to make the turn (In low speeds). It feels like I have to put in a lot of force to start turning it, but then when it starts turning I need to exert less. (Tell me if this is a horrible explanation of the problem).
This was kind of a strange problem to me, and I really don't know what I need to get replaced/ or what to do to fix it. I replaced the steering rack last summer, and don't know if this might have to do with that.
Another issue I am experiencing is that the car makes knocking sounds when I turn. I feel like it is coming from the suspension. The car makes a single or double Knock Knock, and then that is it. I have noticed it happens when I turn and go off a curb or something a like.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
