differential needs replacement @ 26k miles!!!!
first time writing on the ml forum, just wanted to find out if you guys have had this problem and how common it is. I have a '06 ML 350 with 26,000 miles. I bought it new and now i brought it in for service because of a noise i was hearing upon decceleration from about 70 mph, and the SA states i need a new front diff @ $3,650. the "truck" was only driven to drop my kid to and from school...
WTF!!! waranty just ran out
any advice would be appreciated

If you are close to the warranty end it is likely that the dealer could intervene on your behalf and get you the repair or at least part of the repair covered.
Have heard of this happeneing but its not real common. I had an 06 and never had an issue with it. Also you are on the wrong Forum. The 06 ML is a W164 and this is the W163 forum thats up thru 05 I think
