new to the site, help needed on the security code for radio
Hello all.
I recently changed the battery on my 2003 ML500, and now the radio/gps is locked and says "wait" on it. I did a little research and found that I need a security code. Just called the dealer to find out that I would have to call in weekdays because the service department is apparently closed on weekends. But I really need the gps this weekend.....Please help if anyone is able to.

The only place to get the security code is from the dealer.
Most people have written their code somewhere in the vehicle, like in the manual. Look around your paperwork to see if you have the code locally.

Thanks Mike.
I just called the dealer and got a code, going to try it out now.
The lady told me to leave the car running and it shouldn't take more than 24 hours before the "wait" disappears....
anyway.

The radio must be left on for the WAIT to go away but you don't have to leave the engine running. The more times you enter the wrong code the more WAIT time is added.
