99 ML320 CPS problem?
Hi, I have a 1999 Mercedes ML320. The problem it is having:
Was starting occasionally, once a day, then would not restart.
No longer starts at all, continuous cranking.
DAS is authorized, red light flashes once.
Not getting fuel or fire from coils while cranking.
Bypassed fuel pump relay. It gets good fuel pressure now, but still no fire.
I read on a forum that if I am not getting fuel pressure then bypass the relay and get fuel pressure it is the crank position sensor. The one on the flywheel. Is this correct?
Would the CPS cause it not to fire either? Thanks

no start ML
I noticed you had no relies. Here is where I am at. My ML started stalling then would
not restart now justs auto cranks. I replaced the CPS with one from O'Reillys auto parts and it did not fix the problem so I replaced the fuel pump and still no start. I ordered another CPS from Autohause in Arizona thinking the O'Reillys part might be for a 320 or generic. This one is for a ML430 and is Bosch oem. My fuel rail does not have much pressure but when I crank it with the fuel line off, it flows good. I disconnected the battery to reset any bad codes ( I read that trick in one of the forums) It got dark today so I am going to try to start the car tommorrow. I would be interested on bypassing the relay but I do not know which slots to jump over. I would try the CPS if I was you make sure you get one exactly for your year and model not from local store . Good Luck.
