help...my 2001 ML 430 will not start...
I have a 2001 ML 430 w/ approx 130k miles -well maintained inside/out...
my prob: I was driving car without any probs, parked the car for about 15mins and went to start it and it did NOT start.
There was no engine light or indicators on; it did not make any any noise at all when tried to turn it on. I gave it boost and the car started right up; but when I turned it off agaan it would not start.
My uneducated guess is its an alternator issue? Any thoughts?

It's just the opposite. What kept the truck running in both instances was the alternator.
To check things properly you should first check the electrolyte level and check for any corrosion on the battery terminals. Then you will have to have the battery slow charged for at least 6 hrs. out of the truck.
Then after reinstalling it, start the truck and with a volt meter check to see that the charging rate is at least 13.75v but no more than 14.6v.

Thanks Maj Dundee...after doing more research online I believe it maybe an issue w/ the battery rather than alternator. To your point I am taking the veh to the shop to have the charging rate tested.
