Hellgill Wold, Mallerstang, England
I thought I'd escape from Covid19 lock down and do a bit off road in Mallerstang, in the Yorkshire Dales, England. We are supposedly now allowed to drive to do exercise if you spend longer exercising than driving, so I walked up to a hill called High Seat, 709m, that overlooks Swaledale. My old banger looks okay from a distance, but it is getting quite rough now, especially at the front where I had an argument with a hedge a while back, and on the right hand side where I had another argument with a car on the M6 motorway (I was seeing how fast it would still go and got over 125mph! Wind noise was like a WW2 V2 rocket....). It still runs okay, and I've only really had expenditure on the brakes over the years, but lots of things don't work any more, like the AC, the skyroof, the wing mirror control switch (fell off), the mirror power fold (RH mirror needs helping back out), and it could do with new bumpers front and rear, but if I did that they would show up the rest of the car.... It's still my favourite car, and I'm hoping it will last another 20 years. It's only done 126400 miles. I bought it in September 2013 for £1000 and it had 110000 miles on it then, so I haven't been using it too much. Definitely the most fun car I've had!
